Privacy Policy

Pre-launch draft. This policy must be finalized against the production backend, analytics, hosting, authentication providers and legal entity details before StudentHood accepts public accounts.

StudentHood will collect only the information needed to provide, secure and improve the service. Depending on the features a user chooses, this may include account details, profile information, content, messages, connection activity, device information and approximate or precise location where the user explicitly enables a location feature.

Date of birth and age

StudentHood may collect a user’s date of birth to determine age eligibility, apply age-appropriate safety measures and meet legal obligations. A full date of birth is treated as private account information and is not intended to appear on a public profile.

Youth safety data

For under-18 accounts, StudentHood may use date of birth, country or region and a saved time zone to apply age-appropriate content, privacy, guardian-consent and quiet-hour protections. The saved time zone is used to enforce local safety limits and is not intended to be displayed publicly.

Teen privacy defaults

For under-18 accounts, profile visibility is private by default, precise location is not exposed, personalized advertising is disabled, and StudentHood applies stricter discovery, recommendation and messaging controls. These protections are designed to remain active even if a client interface is modified.

Age-range signals and verification

Where supported, StudentHood may receive an age range and assurance source from the device platform, such as Apple Declared Age Range or Google Play Age Signals. StudentHood uses these signals only for age-appropriate experiences and safety. They are compared conservatively with the DOB supplied to StudentHood. A platform account indicating 18+ does not by itself establish that the current user is an adult. If stronger adult verification is required, StudentHood is designed to store only the verification result and provider reference needed for audit, rather than raw identity documents, selfies or biometric templates.

How information may be used

  • Provide accounts, profiles and StudentHood features.
  • Deliver Pings, Scenes, Pulse updates, Hangs, Crews and Gigs.
  • Protect users, prevent abuse and enforce rules.
  • Operate, troubleshoot and improve the product.
  • Meet legal obligations where applicable.

Messages

Ping is the messaging area of StudentHood. Production privacy terms will specify message storage, retention, security and any service providers used to deliver messaging.

Your choices

Account, privacy, location, notification, blocking and deletion controls will be documented here before launch.

Regional privacy rights

Depending on where a user lives, local law may provide rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, restriction or appeal. StudentHood will provide region-appropriate request routes and disclosures before public launch. The final policy must be reviewed against each market in which the service is offered.
